Evangelical Christians in the West today face many difficult issues. Some of these arise from influences inside the Evangelical Christian community and some from influences outside. Inside the community there is the Charismatic Movement with its emphasis on the Holy Spirit, spiritual gifts, and healing, and Reformed Theology, with its emphasis on God’s sovereignty and grace. Outside the community, secular society promotes evolution, feminism, and liberal values. These influences raise many difficult questions.In this book, I seek answers to these questions based on the Bible. Each chapter is devoted to one issue, and can be read independently of other chapters. This means that there is some repetition, but I have tried to keep this to a minimum. I have translated Biblical texts as literally as Hebrew or Greek and English idiom will allow.
