Sarah was devastated that her long-term boyfriend, Pip, who was studying law while she was studying philosophy at UCL London, had given her up on a whim. With great despair and disappointment as to the way her relationship had ended, she decided to write a book in the university summer holidays. Sarah's great aunt passed away and in her will she left Sarah a corgi dog. In the book Sarah writes about a corgi named Pip de Boobar. She had the inspiration or turning Pip de Boobar into a man. He is a focal character who is taught and is given lessons of life of great magnitude through a journey of quality and understanding with a view to evaluating what love is. The artist Gaugin is a spiritual leader throughout the book. He has the knowledge, discipline amd philosophy to carry him and Pip de Boobar into humanity and gratification. Seeing life sometimes in the raw teaches Pip de Boobar all that is necessary to evolve into a man. The journey has many twists and turns. It includes references to the Titanic and events in World War 2. There are artists and philosophers along the way who give Pip de Boobar awareness that is possible to change the way we think. There are two parallel love stories flowing throughout the book but the passions are real and Pip de Boobar becomes a person of great worth in the end.
